Grammy's original recipe with a little help from a Polish cookbook

Ingredients

2 lb

Hamburger

2 C

Cooked Rice

1

Egg

1

Onion
. salt
. pepper
. Cabbage

2  14 oz

Cans Tomato Soup

.

Water as directed on can

.

Carrots

2

Bay leaves

Preparation

1.  Cut core out of cabbage and put cabbage upside down in covered pan and steam for 30 minutes or 1 hour until leaves are soft enough to roll hamburger up in it. 

2.  In large soup pan, add tomato soup, water, carrots & bay leaves.

3.  Mix Hamburger, Rice, Egg, Onion, Salt & Pepper.  Use as filling for each cabbage leaf.  Roll up and place in soup mixture.

4.  Then cook for another hour or 1.5 hours on low or until the hamburger is cooked
