Reliable Marshmallow Frosting

Grandma New's recipe 

Ingredients

2 egg whites
1 3/4 C sugar
6 T ice water
24 small marshmallows

Preparation

Put the unbeaten whites, sugar and water in the upper part of a double boiler.  Have the water boiling rapidly and at once beat.  Continue cooking and beating 7 minutes.  Add marshmallows, remove from fire and beat with spoon until cool enough to hold its shape.
